cap and gown, kindergarten graduation session!
I can’t believe I am writing this as my last baby graduated Kindergarten this week. It feels like just yesterday we were picking out his first backpack and prepping him for such a big adventure. Now here we are, celebrating the end of his very first school year and all the growth, confidence, and joy that came with it. These moments have a way of slipping by faster than we expect, which is exactly why capturing them matters so much.
While taking my son’s kindergarten graduation photos, I knew I didn’t want the same boring, posed image ( yes, just one ) we got from school kindergarten graduation pictures. I wanted to capture who he really is right now, everything my six year old is so fully into and growing through at this age. I want to look back and remember his love for sports, especially baseball, which is his current favorite. I want to remember his teddy bear, Timmy, who still sleeps beside him every night and has joined him for countless “stuffie days” at school. Also, that little gray front tooth—the one that stands out because of a wrestling match with his big brother a couple of years ago.
How to Prepare for Your Kindergarten Graduation Session
When you book your kindergarten graduation photos with me here at Ashley Grace Photography, the cap and gown will already be provided for your session, making things simple and stress-free.
I encourage parents to bring along a few meaningful items that represent your child at this age. This could be:
- A favorite toy or stuffed animal
- Something connected to their favorite sport or hobby
- A special item that reflects their personalit
- Bring a sentential item as well. Mom, this one will be for you!
For me that sentimental piece was my son’s teddy bear. The one he’s had since he was a baby. These little details are what truly bring your child’s story to life in photos.
