Mini Session vs. Full Session
AND WHAT IS BEST FOR YOUR FAMILY
You decided to update those family photos, but you can't decide on wether you should book a mini session or a full session. As your Phoenix family photographer let me break down both types of sessions to help you better decide what the best fit would be for your family’s next session.
A mini session is typically scheduled on a date and at a location solely chosen by the photographer. The session will normally only last about 15-20 minutes. It’s ideal for clients that only want few high quality images for a specific purpose, such as christmas cards. A mini session will focus on a limited amount of poses. Though the mini session will be more budget friendly keep in mind your photographer will more then like have several other families booked on the same day, this leaves little to no time to make adjustments if you show up and your toddler all of a sudden decides they will not be participating in photo actives.
A full session on the other hand will typically last about 1 hour. This amount of time will allow the photographer to get to know the personalities of your kid's and help them feel comfortable while capturing more candid/natural moments between your family. A full session is perfect for those who want more variety and creativity in the photos received. You as the client will also get the chance to choose your desired location and a date a that works best amongst your Photographers availability.
My Personal suggestions to my clients, If you are persistent on having family photos updated every year because I understand if can be costly I recommend having a full session scheduled every 2-3 years with your mini sessions scheduled in-between.
